The Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) is comprised of parent/community volunteers to help support the experiences of our cadets. Every year the SSC works tirelessly to ensure we have the resources needed by fundraising for activities and equipment beyond what's provided by the Department of National Defence. One of their most recent purchases was the new 706 Supply Containers so that equipment can be stored on base at Connaught as well as a replacement for the main door of our headquarters.

ACR Reviewing Officer

Brigadier-General C.F. Pruneau, CD

Privy Council Office Military Advisor

Originally from Val-des-Sources, Brigadier-General Pruneau joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1994 as a student at the Royal Military College Saint-Jean. Commissioned as an infantry officer in 1999, he was posted to the 2nd Battalion of the Royal 22e Regiment in Valcartier and deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2002.

He continued his career at the Combat Training Centre in Gagetown, serving as an instructor and head of the sniper cell. Upon returning to Valcartier, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2006 as the commander of an Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team. In 2009, he assumed command of the parachute company of the 3rd Battalion, with which he took part in two missions: in Haiti (2010) following the earthquake, and again in Afghanistan (2011) as a combat team commander.

After completing the Command and Staff Course in Toronto, he was posted to Kingston to the Army Doctrine and Training Centre, where he served as Chief of Staff, and later as Deputy Chief of Staff following his promotion to Lieutenant-Colonel in 2014.

Returning to Valcartier in 2015, he served as Chief of Staff of the 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, before commanding the 3e Battalion du R22eR from 2016 to 2018.

He was then assigned to NATO’s Joint Force Command Headquarters in Naples, Italy, as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Commander. Back in Canada in 2019, he became Director of Capability Integration, and in 2021 assumed command of the 6th Canadian Combat Support Brigade.

A graduate of the National Security Programme in Toronto, he subsequently took command of Task Force Jerusalem under the Office of the United States Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority. He currently serves as Director of Operations at the Privy Council Office.

Brigadier-General Pruneau holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the Royal Military College of Canada and a master’s degree in Defence Studies from the Canadian Forces College. He is married and the father of two sons.
