As we prepare for the upcoming training year, it’s time to begin the process for our Sponsoring Committee (SSC) elections. Elections will take place as follows:

Date: Thursday, June 11th, 2026

Location: 5 Brouillette Blvd

Time: 1900 hrs – 2000 hrs

This is an important opportunity for both returning volunteers and those who are newer to the squadron to step into leadership roles and help shape the year ahead. We welcome nominations for all positions, and we strongly encourage anyone interested—whether you’ve been with us for years or recently joined—to consider putting your name forward.

Serving on the SSC is a meaningful way to support our cadets, gain insight into how the squadron operates, and contribute to the significant work that happens before, during, and after every event.

SSC Composition

A SSC shall consist of a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of eleven (11) members, including chairperson, 1st vice-chairperson, 2nd vice-chairperson, secretary, treasurer and up to 6 directors. Additional individuals can serve as volunteers but cannot be voting members of the SSC. All members and volunteers of SSCs are members of the QOVPC (Quebec and Ottawa Valley Provincial Committee).

Eligibility

Members of a SSC must be legal residents of Canada and be at least 18 years old. Outgoing committee members may stand for re-election. Serving members of the Canadian Forces not directly working within the Air Cadet Program can be committee members, but require written approval from their commanding officer and be approved by the QOVPC's Board of Directors (BOD). Any current member of the BOD wishing to be a SSC member must obtain the BOD's approval before submitting their candidacy.
